Rep. Jim Jordan has been actively involved in promoting false information and conspiracies in support of former President Trump’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election results.
Jordan lies often and promotes pro-Trump disinformation. He participated in post-election meetings with Trump and others to discuss strategies for challenging the election.
Jordan also played a role in pressuring Vice President Pence to undo the election results. (Trending: Joe Biden Historic Take Down of Guns)
The House select committee on January 6 found evidence of Jordan’s involvement in Trump’s efforts to mount a coup.
Despite this, Jordan has refused to cooperate with the committee’s investigation. If Republicans elevate Jordan to leadership positions, they will be endorsing Trump’s attack on democracy.
On PBS, Lisa Desjardins said, “In the days leading up to the January 6 insurrection, Jordan, Trump and other Freedom Caucus members held a discussion on strategies for delaying the certification of the electoral vote, according to the House January 6 Committee report.”
“And the day before, the committee wrote, Jordan texted White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, passing along a memo advising that Vice President Pence should ‘call out the electoral votes that he believes are unconstitutional as no electoral votes at all.'” (Trending: Donald Trump Is A ‘Cockroach’ That Just Won’t Go Away)

“Jordan and Trump spoke several times on January 6, and the day culminated with Jordan joining many of his Republican colleagues to object to the certification of the Electoral College vote. Jordan has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, saying the committee has twisted the evidence. He refused to comply with a subpoena to testify,” she continued.
“Jordan’s history pushing for Trump’s stolen election lies could be politically toxic for some moderate Republicans in swing districts next year,” she concluded.
