Matthew Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing on the sitcom “Friends,” has passed away at the age of 54.
In the first report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, the cause of death is currently “deferred” pending toxicology results.

Perry battled substance abuse for many years, spending millions on rehab and undergoing multiple surgeries.
“An autopsy was completed today, and toxicology results are pending,” a representative for the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office confirmed.
The coroner also listed “other significant conditions” as a cause of death.
His body was “ready for release,” per the medical examiner.
He had been sober since early 2021.
The news of his death has been met with shock and sadness, with tributes pouring in from his colleagues and fans.
“Friends” co-creators, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, and executive producer Kevin Bright said, “We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew’s passing. It still seems impossible.”

More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart.We send all of our love to his family and friends. This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken.”
