Shonda Rhimes, a prominent Hollywood producer, reportedly left Disney-owned ABC over a dispute involving theme park passes.

Rhimes is known for creating popular shows like “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Scandal,” and “How to Get Away With Murder.”

Rhimes was allegedly given an all-inclusive pass to Disneyland but needed an additional pass for her sister.

After facing resistance, Rhimes called a high-ranking executive who allegedly responded dismissively.

This incident, along with other creative frustrations, led Rhimes to leave ABC and sign a nine-figure deal with Netflix.

The story highlights Disney’s cost-cutting measures and priorities, which some perceive as penny-wise and pound-foolish.

A report showed that Rhimes “was producing some 70 hours of annual television in 256 territories; she was making tens of millions of dollars for herself and more than $2 billion for Disney, and still there were battles with ABC.”

“They’d push, she’d push back. Over budget. Over content. Over an ad she and the stars of her series — ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ — made for then-presidential nominee Hillary Clinton,” the outlet added.

“I felt like I was dying,” Rhimes said.

“She knew her breaking point would come, but what it would be she never could have predicted,” the report founded.
